Each week, we provide questions based on the sermon. These questions are to encourage you to connect the scriptures to your own life and to invite you to grow deeper in your relationships with others at Faith by discussing the questions together.
Readings: Acts 16:16-34, Psalm 97, John 17:20-26.
Sermon: Personal privilege imprisons us, but Christ sets us free to serve.
Questions:
1) What freedoms have you taken for granted, only to discover they could be taken away?
2) When is a time that you have experienced freedom in serving others?
3) In the reading from Acts we encounter 5 major characters, a slave girl who is free to proclaim God's salvation, slave owners who've lost their hope when their profit runs dry, magistrates who discover the authority they wield can be wielded against them, Paul and Silas who are jailed but who set their jailer free, and a jailer who realized he was the one on death row. With which of these characters do you most identify and why?
