Welcome Home! On August 28th, we celebrate our life as a church family. August was a family month for me. My daughter Karly and her family moved to Idaho on August 1st. This is the first of my children to move out of state. Many of you have already experienced this or have done it yourselves. When they first considered moving to Idaho, my son-in-law said that they would only do it if I moved with them. I told them that my Faith family was too important to me to leave behind. They are building a new home with a room for me when I visit. I also have 3 other daughters in California. You and the rest of the members of Faith Lutheran are a valued part of my life.
In August, I will join 4 of my siblings and their spouses on a cruise in the Baltic. This will be the first time that most of us have been together since 2015 at a family reunion in South Dakota. Nine very different personalities will spend 10 days together. Our father was a college speech professor and debate coach, so many family discussions had a tendency to become somewhat heated and divisive. Pastor Ben’s sermon on the 14th gave me ideas on how to keep the sunflower together. I look forward to our time as a family.
You are a valued member of the congregation. We hope to see you at the potluck and Welcome Home celebration on August 28th. If you know someone who was active in the past but no longer attends, please invite them to join us for a time of hospitality, food, games, and good conversation.
Welcome Home, Faith Family!
