Thanks to the dramatic decline in Butte County’s Covid cases and advances in treatment for Covid, Faith Lutheran’s council has revised our Covid policy. Effective immediately:
1. We invite people to worship without a mask. Many people will choose to continue to wear a mask. We honor and respect each person’s decision. Sunday School helpers and choir singers are asked to continue to wear masks.
2. We will invite people to stand as they are able during prayers and the singing of hymns.
3. We will once again pass the offering plate and process the offerings of bread and wine to the altar.
4. We will invite people to pass the peace by standing in their seat, turning to the people immediately next to them, and asking if they would like to shake hands, elbow bump, or share a peace sign without touching. This is an opportunity to practice respectfully navigating the various levels of Covid comfort within our society.
5. On days with poor weather, we will hold coffee hour indoors. On beautiful days, we will still hold coffee hour in the courtyard.
Starting April 17th, Easter Sunday
1. We will return the baptismal font to the center of the congregation and begin worship with a remembrance of baptism.
2. We will provide the common cup as an option for wine during communion. Individual cups will continue to be the primary means of communing.
We give thanks to God for the waning of the pandemic and continue to pray for the health of the world.
