While Abraham's two biological sons go on to father whole nations, including both Jews and Arabs, Abraham's greatest legacy are the multitude of nations who become a part of his family by sharing his faith. Christians in every nation in the world consider themselves to be heirs of Abraham because they have learned to follow Abraham's example of living life by trusting in God. One man's faithful example has inspired the whole world, and created a common spiritual ancestor in every nation. But Abraham never saw this. This week, consider how your everyday actions might ripple through history in ways that you cannot see. How might you live your faith so that your daily interactions, even with strangers, might help future generations to trust in God's goodness?
Each Week in Lent Pastor Ben will invite you to memorize one verse from the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday and to reflect on it during the week.
