Scam Email Alert

Recently, many of you have received emails from an sender claiming to be Pastor Ben. The body of the text may have contained the message "Lovely day. Can you spare me some of your time now?" or may have asked for gift cards or money. This is a scam email AKA "phishing" email.

When you receive an email from the real Pastor Ben, that email will:

• ALWAYS be from colahanb@gmail.com.
• NEVER ask you personally for money. Giving to the church may be done on Sundays, online, or by check made out to Faith Lutheran Church and never to the pastor directly. 
• NEVER ask for gift cards. Faith Lutheran Church will also never ask for gift cards. 

If you are ever confused about an email's authenticity, Michael is happy to check for you. Give the office a call and let him know the situation. Furthermore, spam emails where the sender asks for money or gift cards may be reported as "phishing" emails which will let your email host know that this person is a scammer.
