From Joel Zimbelman, FLC Property Manager:
Many, many thanks to the thirty intrepid souls that helped us out at last week's Saturday Workday. In a little over three hours we managed to put in over 100 hours of labor: laying bark, cutting cedar trees (Rick Bentler’s saw was red hot), patching asphalt holes, raked leaves, and weeding. And we shampooed all the sanctuary chairs, cleaned the roofs off, washed windows, vacuumed rooms, rearranged closets and storage areas, moved furniture, and sorted music. It was pretty impressive how diligently people worked. We even got fed homemade coffee cake (thanks Carol!). And everyone set a standard of focus and attention that is obvious when you look around. We plan to get some interior and exterior lighting projects finished up in the coming week; our bathroom project in Room 1 is going forward; odds and ends of repair on plumbing are in process, and some air conditioning upgrades are not too far off in the future! Help with work, help with funding, and patience as these tasks get accomplished is appreciated by your church staff, the Church Council, and your buildings and maintenance team! Joel Zimbelman
