Our sister in Christ, Darlene Hollmann, died early this morning and entered eternal life in Christ.
For decades Darlene was a pillar of Faith Lutheran Church. She served on the council, was instrumental in bringing Stephen Ministry to our congregation, and was key to building our columbarium. In recent years, Darlene moved to Washington State to live with her son, but even so, she worshipped with us online and participated in the Tuesday Pastor's Bible study, even stepping in to lead it while Pastor Ben was away.
In this week in which we remember Jesus' death and resurrection, we proclaim with the Apostle Paul that, "if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his" (Romans 6:5). Truly Darlene is united in Christ's resurrection.
Darlene is survived by two of her three children, Greg Hollmann and Laura Juanitas. Cards can be sent to them at 21948 183rd Ave. SE. Yelm WA 98597
There will be a service at Faith Lutheran to inter Darlene's ashes into the columbarium she helped establish. Details will be shared once they have been finalized with the family.
